The NFL Draft is just a week away and it's time for another NFL mock draft. The draft has already seen two major trades, with the Titans trading the No. 1 overall pick to the Rams and the Browns sending the No. 2 overall pick to the Eagles. We have an idea of which players will go where come April, but the blockbuster trades have caused some uncertainty.
I'm attempting to project where players will end up going, not who I think a team should pick. Most picks will turn out incorrect, and approaching just 10 correct picks is impressive.
If you hate what I wrote (or agree, but c'mon this is the internet) or just want to talk NFL Draft, hit me up on Twitter. With all that out of the way, let's dive into the picks.
1. Los Angeles Rams (via Titans): Jared Goff, QB, Cal
The Rams gave up a lot to move up to the No. 1 overall pick, and they'll be taking a QB. But which one? It's going to be either Goff or Carson Wentz, with the Rams playing coy on who they'll actually pick. They'll likely keep that a secret for as long as they can. There's a lot of risk involved in this deal, but the Rams have decided they had to get a franchise QB this year.
2. Philadelphia Eagles (via Browns): Carson Wentz, QB, North Dakota State
The Eagles are moving up for a QB, and they're reportedly in love with Wentz. Even if Wentz goes No. 1, this pick will be a QB. Of course, with Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel on the roster, that QB won't play right away. The Eagles gave up a lot to move up, so they better land a franchise QB.
3. San Diego Chargers: Laremy Tunsil, OT, Ole Miss
The Chargers need offensive line help, and getting Tunsil at No. 3 would be huge for the Chargers. Jalen Ramsey is still in play here, but the Tunsil has to be the pick. The Chargers have Joe Barksdale at RT, but need an upgrade over King Dunlap. That's exactly what Tunsil would be.
4. Dallas Cowboys: Jalen Ramsey, CB/S, Florida State
The Cowboys would love to land Ramsey and this would work out perfectly for the Cowboys. Ramsey is reportedly at the top of their draft board and they might be able to land him how. He'd start right away at CB or safety and can play both. The suspension of DeMarcus Lawrence for four games helps make a strong case for OSU DE Joey Bosa. However, there will be quality DEs in the second round.
5. Jacksonville Jaguars: Joey Bosa, DE, OSU
If the draft breaks down this way, the Jaguars would likely choose between UCLA LB Myles Jack Jack and Bosa. The team added Malik Jackson, but he might be better off at DT. Bosa would be a strong fit with Dante Fowler at DE. If Bosa isn't the pick, he could slide a bit on draft day. Jack could be the pick here, even if Bosa is on the board.
6. Baltimore Ravens: DeForest Buckner, DE, Oregon
The Ravens' biggest team need is at corner, but Buckner is a superior player to Vernon Hargreaves. The Ravens 3-4 defense would be a perfect fit for Buckner, and he'd upgrade their defensive line. If the Chargers don't take Tunsil, he could be the pick here.
7. San Francisco 49ers: Myles Jack, LB, UCLA
Adding a QB is an option, but if Goff and Wentz are gone, the 49ers won't reach for Paxton Lynch. With QB not an option, the 49ers could address some defensive shortcomings instead. Jack is a freak athlete and would be a perfect fit in the 49ers 3-4 scheme. If Jack and the QBs are off the board, the 49ers could try to move down.
8. Cleveland Browns (from Eagles via Dolphins): Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame
This pick has already been traded twice and it wouldn't be a stunner if the Browns moved down again on draft day. The Browns already lost RT Mitchell Schwartz and LT Joe Thomas won't be around forever. Stanley would start at RT and eventually move to LT. Other options include Ezekiel Elliott and Jack. Don't rule out Paxton Lynch here either.
9. Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Leonard Floyd, DE, Georgia
The Bucs need pass rushing help, and Floyd is among the best in the draft. The team struggled getting to the QB and the addition of Robert Ayers isn't enough for the Bucs. An OT is also an option as is another pass rusher, although Stanley is the only one worth taking this high. For more NFL Draft coverage, check out the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app.
10. New York Giants: Shaq Lawson, DE, Clemson
The Giants could go several directions, including RB, OT and CB. But with Jason Pierre-Paul only signed through one-year and the Giants needing DE depth, Lawson is the pick for now. He should be a Top 15 selection in the draft.
11. Chicago Bears: Vernon Hargreaves, CB, Florida
The Bears need CB help, even with Tracy Porter returning. But this pick is more about value, as getting Hargreaves outside of the Top 10 is a borderline steal. If the Bears don't want a corner, a defensive lineman or pass rusher is an option.
12. New Orleans Saints: A'Shawn Robinson, DT, Alabama
The Saints defense needs help everywhere and Robinson is a perfect fit for the team's 3-4 defense. The Saints must find a way to upgrade their defensive line and Robinson would help do that. Fellow Crimson Tide DL Jarran Reed is also an option here.
13. Miami Dolphins (via Eagles): Ezekiel Elliott, RB, Ohio State
The Eagles moving up could be great for the Dolphins. They need RB help and now the Eagles won't take Elliott. That means he could slip to them at No. 13 overall. . An offensive lineman, DE or CB is an option here too.
14. Oakland Raiders: Mackensie Alexander, CB, Clemson
The Raiders needs secondary help, and Alexander would be a solid pick here. The Raiders secondary was a major weakness, but the additions of Sean Smith and Reggie Nelson helped shore the position up. Adding Alexander would make things even better. A defensive lineman is also an option. Download the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app for more NFL Draft coverage.
15. Tennessee Titans (via Rams): Jack Conklin, OT, Michigan State
Time for another major change. The Titans could go several directions with this pick. They could add secondary help, take Reggie Ragland or another ILB or upgrade their offensive line. Conklin isn't Tunsil, but he's a solid offensive tackle. Marcus Mariota got hit a ton last season, and adding Conklin will help prevent that.
16. Detroit Lions: Sheldon Rankins, DT, Louisville
The Lions have a big need on the defensive line, and Rankins is one of several DTs that could go in Round One. Rankins would help the team properly replace Ndamukong Suh.
17. Atlanta Falcons: Darron Lee, LB, Ohio State
The Falcons need help at linebacker and Lee is a Top 20 talent. He's a similar player to Ryan Shazier and would be a strong fit for the Falcons. He could go in the Top 15.
18. Indianapolis Colts: Noah Spence, OLB, Eastern Kentucky
For the sake of Andrew Luck, the Colts must upgrade their offensive line. However, the Colts don't seem to want to draft a lineman to help Luck. The Colts need pass rushing help, and Spence would be a big boost. His red flags, including getting kicked out of Ohio State for drug use, could result in him dropping.
19. Buffalo Bills: Reggie Ragland, LB, Alabama
The Bills are set at multiple positions, but need MLB help. If the Bills move to a 3-4 scheme, Ragland will thrive. Ragland, the draft's best ILB, could go before this.
20. New York Jets: Paxton Lynch, QB, Memphis
This is as far as Lynch will far. The Jets need a QB, even if they bring back Ryan Fitzpatrick. There's a good chance Lynch is already gone, and he could seriously be a Top 10 pick. The Chat Sports Android and iPhone has more NFL Draft coverage.
21. Washington Redskins: Vernon Butler, DT, Louisiana Tech
The Redskins need to improve up on the defensive, and they'll likely target the defensive line. That's GM Scot McCloughan's MO anyway. Butler is one of several talented DT this year and should be a first rounder, and he might be off the board before this. The loss of Terrance Knighton makes this pick all the more likely, but don't overlook the possibility of adding a CB.
22. Houston Texans: Corey Coleman, WR, Baylor
Plot twist: Laquon Treadwell isn't the first WR off the board. The Texans are high on Coleman and he's a better fit for the Texans than Treadwell. Coleman (or Will Fuller) can be a deep threat, while Treadwell is a possession option.
23. Minnesota Vikings: Laquon Treadwell, WR, Ole Miss
The Vikings are close to being a dangerous team. Stefon Diggs has emerged, but Teddy Bridgewater needs more weapons. Treadwell should be a first rounder and there's a decent chance he's off the board before this. But it's a deep WR class at the top, with several borderline first round prospects. There have been reports Treadwell isn't as highly viewed by teams as he is in the media, and he could slip to Minnesota or even further. But he's absolutely worth the No. 23 overall pick.
24. Cincinnati Bengals: Andrew Billings, DT, Baylor
It seems like the Bengals will either draft a DT to replace Domata Peko or a WR to replace Marvin Jones and Mohamed Sanu. Billings is the perfect replacement for Peko and he can start right away. Billings could go before this, but the Bengals have gotten lucky with players falling to them in recent years. That could be the case this year, although there will several WRs on the board.
25. Pittsburgh Steelers: William Jackson, CB, Houston
Corner is a big need for the Steelers and Jackson is a worthy of a first round pick. Expect this pick to be spent on the defensive side of the ball. Pittsburgh has neglected the CB position for too long and need young talent. Jackson could go even higher than this.
26. Seattle Seahawks: Taylor Decker, OT, Ohio State
The Seahawk offensive line improved late, but more help is needed, especially with the free agency losses. Getting Decker at the end of Round One is solid value and he could very well be gone before this. Download the Chat Sports Android and iPhone app for more NFL Draft coverage.
27. Green Bay Packers: Chris Jones, DT, Mississippi State
The Packers could use defensive line help, as they don't have a whole lot outside of Mike Daniels. Adding some linebacker help is also an option. If Paxton Lynch is still on the board, the Packers are one of several teams that could trade down with the Broncos.
28. Kansas City Chiefs: Josh Doctson, WR, TCU
Doctson would be great value here for the Chiefs and he'd give Alex Smith another big weapon. Doctson might not last this long, but the Chiefs should jump all over him if he's still on the board. If the Chiefs don't take a WR, adding a CB like Eli Apple is an option.
29. Arizona Cardinals: Keanu Neal, S, Florida
The Cardinals don't need a pass rusher with the addition of Chandler Jones. The team has lost Rashad Johnson, Tony Jefferson has one year left on his deal and Tyrann Mathieu is injury prone. This seems like a surprise pick, but the Cardinals did something similar with Deone Bucannon only a few years ago. Neal is a riser and could go in Round One.
30. Carolina Panthers: Eli Apple, CB Ohio State
The Panthers could go offensive line, DE or WR here, but now they need CB help with Josh Norman a free agent is the best value. Apple is a bit raw, but he's worth a late first rounder. At some point, the Panthers will need to add a CB, likely early. Don't rule out RB Derrick Henry here either.
31. Denver Broncos: Jarran Reed, DE, Alabama
The Broncos lost Malik Jackson, so they need another DE to pair with Derek Wolfe. Reed would be a great pick for the Broncos, and would be a steal. He could start right away and there's a good chance he's already off the board. If Lynch slips to past the Top 20, don't be surprised if the Broncos try to move up to land him. He makes perfect sense as a Broncos draft pick, but he likely won't last this long.
