Newcastle will be without captain Jamaal Lascelles and summer signing Joe Willock as they search for their first win of the season at Watford on Saturday, with boss Steve Bruce promising to investigate the club's persistent injury problems.
Willock, a £22million arrival from Arsenal, kicked the ground in training this week and has damaged his toe, while Lascelles is absent with a thigh strain suffered during last weekend's 1-1 draw with Leeds.
Bruce has already lost Callum Wilson (thigh), Jonjo Shelvey (calf), Martin Dubravka (foot) and Paul Dummett (calf) to injury, and the head coach says they will look into the fitness issues that continue to plague his squad.
