Sheffield Wednesday reclaimed sixth place in the Championship after second-half strikes from Tom Lees and Steven Fletcher downed Newcastle.
Tom Lees put the home side ahead with a powerful header from Ross Wallace's free-kick in the 59th minute and Fletcher doubled their lead with a brilliant header in the 68th minute.
Jonjo Shelvey grabbed a late consolation for the visitors.
