Relegation-threatened Newcastle suffer huge double injury blow as Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin are both ruled out until April after the pair picked up injuries in the draw with Wolves

Newcastle's Premier League survival hopes have been dealt a significant blow by the news that Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin will be sidelined until April.

The pair will join leading scorer Callum Wilson on the sidelines after picking up knee and groin injuries respectively during Saturday evening's 1-1 draw with Wolves.

A statement on the club's official website said: 'Newcastle United forwards Miguel Almiron and Allan Saint-Maximin will be out of action until April after picking up injuries during the Magpies' 1-1 draw with Wolves on Saturday.'

The statement continued: 'Almiron sustained a knee injury and had to be replaced at half-time, while Saint-Maximin suffered a groin injury in the 63rd minute.
