Premier League clubs will not be allowed to resubmit their 25-man squads ahead of the season resuming next week.
Some clubs had hoped to revise the players available to them given that the circumstance around form and fitness may have changed since January.
However, alterations will not be permitted unless special dispensation is given by the Premier League board.
It means that players such as Newcastle’s Paul Dummett look set to miss out on the remainder of the campaign despite being fully fit.
