Striker Nile Ranger has insisted his troubled past is firmly behind him after showing off his old ID badge from his time in a young offenders institute on social media.
The former Newcastle youngster is currently playing for League One side Southend United, having also represented Swindon Town and then Blackpool following his departure from St James' Park.
Despite possessing plenty of natural talent, the London-born striker has struggled significantly off the pitch and, before his professional career even began, spent 11 weeks in a young offenders institute in Huntercombe for his part in an armed robbery while a member of Southampton's youth set-up.
