Newcastle winger Aarons out for season

Newcastle United winger Rolando Aarons will miss the rest of the season after rupturing his anterior cruciate ligament in training.

Aarons, 21, has made five appearances for the Championship side this season, the last of which came in August's 2-0 EFL Cup win against Cheltenham.

He has played a total of 22 games, scoring three goals since moving from Bristol City aged 16.

The club confirmed he would undergo surgery 'in due course'.

The Magpies tied Aarons to a five-year deal at St James' Park in August of this year.
