Newcastle United pair Yoan Gouffran and Emmanuel Riviere are wanted by Lorient.
The French side are looking to loan Gouffran, 30, and Riviere, 26, who also has interest from Osasuna.
Newcastle's Henri Saivet is joining St Etienne on loan.
Rafa Benitez said this week he would be happy if Gouffran stays after he made an appearance in the 1-0 win at Bristol City.
