Newcastle United are looking to make a second bid of around £10m for Brighton defender Dan Burn after the Seagulls had rejected their initial bid.
The towering left sided centre back is a boyhood Newcastle fan and has just 18 months left on contract.
As Sportsmail reported on Tuesday, the 29-year old Burn has emerged as a target for Newcastle as they scramble to sign two centre backs before Monday's deadline.
Brighton had earlier rejected an offer of around £8m but Eddie Howe's side are keen to continue discussions in their attempts to land a centre-back before the January window closes.
