Newcastle have strengthened their squad with the signings of striker Daryl Murphy and defender Achraf Lazaar for undisclosed fees.
Murphy, 33, arrives at St James' Park on a two-year contract from Sky Bet Championship rivals Ipswich, while Moroccan 24-year-old Lazaar has agreed a five-year deal from Serie A side Palermo.
Rafael Benitez's Magpies are aiming for an immediate return to the Premier League following relegation and have now brought in 11 players during the summer transfer window.
Lazaar, who has 16 international caps, told the club's official website: 'I am very happy to be at Newcastle United.
