Newcastle United have refused to comment on reports that Steve Bruce is set to be rewarded with a new three-year contract.
Toon boss Bruce, 60, has felt the wrath of fans ever since his appointment by owner Mike Ashley in 2019.
Both Ashley and Bruce were the target of negative chants by some fans as Newcastle drew 1-1 at Rotherham on Tuesday night.
