Rafa Benitez will sit down with Newcastle United owner Mike Ashley when the season ends and demand the funds to overhaul his squad.
The Magpies sealed promotion back to the Premier League with a 4-1 victory over Preston on Monday night but Benitez has refused to commit his future to the club, despite having two years to run on his current deal.
Benitez wants guarantees over budget and control and will seek assurances from Ashley, who is understood to be keen to find a solution to keep the Spaniard at St James' Park.
And Benitez's players have now come out in support of their manager.
