Newcastle 'keen to launch £15 million move for Benfica midfielder Rafa Silva' but move is on hold as club monitor impact of coronavirus pandemic on summer transfer kitty

Newcastle United are keen to launch a £15 million bid for Benfica midfielder Rafa Silva but have put the move on hold as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.

Silva has caught the eye in 21 appearances for the club this term but is ready to leave the Portuguese champions and embark on a new challenge.

Benfica initially valued Silva at £25m but Newcastle are only willing to bid up to £15m providing their budget isn't wiped out by the current global health crisis.
