Newcastle have reportedly held talks with Eddie Howe regarding his future at the club amid speculation he will succeed Gareth Southgate as England boss.
After Southgate stepped down following the Three Lions' defeat in the Euro 2024 final Howe quickly emerged as the bookies favourite to take the vacant role.
The 46-year-old added fuel to the fire last week when he expressed concerns about his ability to continue at St James' Park following a restructure in the club's management structure this summer.
Howe insisted he was happy to remain at Newcastle, but added that he must be 'free to work in the way I want to work' in order to remain at the helm.
