Newcastle goalkeeper Nick Pope has spoken of the madness after Toon fans hijacked an online poll which saw the England man trending number one in the UK on Twitter.
It was all down to Newcastle fan account Toon Polls who answered an online poll from Burger King asking 'what's better' between gherkins and tomatoes.
The account jokingly replied to the tweet 'Nick Pope' and so set off a viral trend that saw the likes of McDonalds, Easyjet and Amazon all tweeting the name of the Magpie's summer signing.
Speaking in an interview with Sky Sports, the 30-year-old explained how he found out about the bizarre situation and how his phone blew-up with notifications.
