Newcastle flop Mehdi Abeid says he is looking for a return to the Premier League after watching his Algeria side stumble to a draw in their opening game at the Africa Cup of Nations.
Abeid played just 13 league games in his time at St James’ Park, before being shipped out on loan to St Johnstone and then Panathinaikos.
But with the 24-year-old now performing well in Ligue 1 with Dijon, Abeid admitted he would relish a return to England.
‘Yes, I am looking to come back,’ he said after Algeria’s 2-2 draw against Zimbabwe in Francevill, in which he was an unused substitute.
