Newcastle are still absorbing the loss of Callum Wilson for the next two months, but Confidential can reveal better news on the hamstring front with Joe Willock.
The midfielder was ruled out of last weekend’s 4-2 defeat at Brentford with a hamstring issue and there were fears among some of a spell on the sidelines, given his injury issues.
However, we understand that tests have confirmed the problem is not serious and Willock is on course to return to the squad for Saturday’s visit of Leicester.
He did not train during the early part of this week, but the plan is for the 25-year-old to rejoin the group ahead of the game and most likely take his place on the bench, should there be no adverse reaction.
