Newcastle stormed to a 2-1 win over Brighton as two quickfire goals within the opening 15 minutes ensure the hosts moved seven points clear of relegation.
Ryan Fraser opened the scoring for the Magpies after he planted the rebound off the post from Jacob Murphy's attempt firmly in the net.
Just two minutes later, Newcastle had doubled their lead as Fraser turned provider. He delivered a free kick in for Fabian Schar to wrap his neck around and nod into goal.
However, woeful marking from Newcastle let Brighton back in. A floated corner found an unmarked Lewis Dunk who was able to head beyond Martin Dubravka with ease.
