Newcastle defender Massadio Haidara has taken his first steps back to full fitness after an 11-month injury nightmare.
Haidara has not featured for Newcastle since the 6-2 Premier League victory over Norwich last October after suffering meniscus injuries to his knee.
But the French full-back played 45 minutes for the under-23 side in their 1-1 draw with Stoke on Monday night.
"It's been a long, long time,'' Haidara told the club's website. "My last game was in October last year, so I'm really happy. I just played 45 minutes and I felt good.
"It's been a lot of hard work for eight months.
