Brennan Johnson is a summer target for Leeds United if they stay in the Premier League and Nottingham Forest miss out on promotion.
The forward has been one of the outstanding players in the Championship this term and attracted a substantial bid from Brentford during the January transfer window, which Forest turned down.
Johnson, 20, has only one more year remaining on his deal and is the jewel in the crown at The City Ground, registering 15 goals and nine assists in the second tier this term.
Only an improbable swing in goal difference will deny Forest a play-off spot and they still have an outside chance of pipping Bournemouth to automatic promotion.
