Newcastle United's hopes of Premier League survival received a welcome boost on Saturday when a Jonjo Shelvey free kick was enough to win their tie against Leeds United at Elland Road.
Despite a frantic pace to the game, neither team looked likely to score until the 75th minute when Leeds keeper Illan Meslier failed to deal with Shelvey's tame effort.
Newcastle held on to the vital three points, earning just their second win of the season and first since December.
