It was Newcastle who came out on top to end their 70-year wait for a domestic trophy, with goals from Dan Burn and Alexander Isak sealing a 2-1 victory.
Liverpool pulled a goal back through Federico Chiesa in stoppage time, but it was too little to late for the Reds, who must now focus their attention on holding off Arsenal to win the Premier League title.
