Newcastle chairman Yasir Al-Rumayyan has told the club’s hierarchy to resist any offers for his favourite player Alexander Isak this summer.

The governor of Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment fund, the club’s majority owners, was at Wembley on Sunday to see the Magpies lift their first domestic trophy in 70 years. He watched the 2-1 win over Liverpool in the Carabao Cup final from the Royal Box, before joining the team at Wembley’s Boxpark for a celebratory party.

And we understand the Saudi chief is adamant that Isak, scorer of the second goal against the Reds, will not be going anywhere.
