Newcastle midfielder Matty Longstaff has not trained this week amid uncertainty over his future at the club.
Sportsmail understands the 20-year-old has sat out with a thigh strain but head coach Steve Bruce expects him to return in the coming days.
Longstaff is out of contract this month and has an offer from Serie A side Udinese, thought to include a signing-on fee in excess of £2.5million plus wages of £30,000-a-week.

Newcastle's latest offer was a £20,000-a-week package plus future incentives, which the player has not accepted.
