Eddie Howe has told his Newcastle players they must use the love of the 300,000 fans who celebrated their Carabao Cup win as a driver to deliver more silverware.
The city’s streets were packed on Saturday as Howe and his team journeyed by open-top bus from St James’ Park to the Town Moor, where they presented the trophy to supporters during an open-air party hosted by Ant and Dec.
And Howe, who is the first Newcastle boss to win a trophy since 1969, said: ‘You can’t help but see from that bus what it means to represent this football club.
