Chelsea are set to sign England youth international Ollie Harrison from Newcastle.
Mail Sport understands the 15-year-old has agreed terms with the Blues and the move will now be subject to Premier League approval, with a compensation package or tribunal to follow.
It is a big blow for Newcastle, given the midfielder is regarded as one of the best of his generation. His dad, Steve, is also a respected coach within the club’s academy, and that has been a complicating factor in the player’s decision to leave his boyhood team.
Newcastle made a contract offer to Harrison, who turns 16 this summer, but were not going to break their wage structure.
