Brentford 3-1 Reading: Bryan Mbeumo strikes twice to propel hosts to within three points of second as they stretch unbeaten run to 13 games with victory

Newcastle United, consider yourselves well and truly warned. You'll be facing the EFL's most in-form team in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals on Tuesday night and one of Brentford's best players has just rediscovered his mojo.

Bryan Mbeumo netted 16 goals last season as he formed a devastating partnership with Ollie Watkins and Said Benrahma. They both departed Brentford in the summer and Mbeumo has struggled to reach such heights.

The 21-year-old had scored only once this season. Until this stroll against Reading, that is.
