Arsenal piled more misery on winless Newcastle on Saturday as second half strikes from Bukayo Saka and Gabriel Martinelli made for a woeful afternoon for Eddie Howe.
England international Saka opened the scoring with a thunderous left-footed strike after good interplay between Emile Smith-Rowe and Nuno Tavares.
Saka was replaced by Martinelli due to an injury concern and the Brazilian made an instant impact with a sumptuous volley just seconds after entering the fray.
The result leaves the Magpies rooted to the bottom of the Premier League, giving Howe a sizeable task to stave off the threat of relegation for the strugglers.
