Andres Villas-Boas has turned down an offer to take over as the new Newcastle manager, according to reports.
There are doubts over Steve Bruce's future in the St. James' Park dugout once the proposed deal to take over the north east club by a Saudi-backed consortium goes through.
There have already been suggestions that that £300million takeover could see Mauricio Pochettino targeted for the job, but it is now being reported that one candidate has already turned them down.
Villas-Boas' future at Marseille is unclear, and there had been suggestions that he would either have to extend his deal – which he is not willing to do – or leave in the summer.
