The excitement around the New York Yankees has been incredible, especially around outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. Last year the Yankees led the MLB in home runs with 142, so adding the 2017 NL MVP who hit 59 home runs should only help that number rise, right? However, Stanton is off to a rough start this season batting .197 with three home runs, 10 RBIs, and 29 strikeouts. Stanton broke a record earlier in the season becoming the first player in Yankees history to strike out eight times in any 2-game span. His struggles have already led to New York fans booing him and it's not even May yet. This puts new manager Aaron Boone in a tough situation and it shouldn't surprise anyone that Boone is considering dropping Stanton in the lineup.

According to MLB.com's Bryan Hoch, Boone might move Stanton down in the lineup during the Blue Jays series, but “not too far.”
Boone also went on to say he has faith in the Yankees to get rolling with Stanton in the lineup.
"Once he gets rolling, it will be a juggernaut," Boone said.
Stanton had another rough day at the plate on Tuesday going 0-4 with two strikeouts in the Yankees 9-1 loss to the Miami Marlins. Stanton has batted third for the Yankees in the 16 games he has played in this season.
