The New York Yankees continue to look for ways to strengthen their roster even after trading for Giancarlo Stanton and signing CC Sabathia to a one-year, $10 million contract. They have been heavily linked to Baltimore Orioles star Manny Machado, but any potential deal between the two sides may be in jeopardy now. With the Winter Meetings here, more moves will be on the way. Here are all the latest Yankees news & rumors you need to know:

Yankees Interested in Chris Archer
According to Marc Topkin of the Tampa Bay Times, the Yankees have shown interest in Chris Archer. Archer has been one of the best young right-handed pitchers since entering the league in 2012. In his young career, he has made 162 appearances, 160 of which have been starts racking up 967 innings pitched with a 3.63 ERA.
Archer still has two years left on his contract that the Rays extended in 2014. He is due $13.75 million and has club options for 2020 at $9 million ($1.75 million buyout) and 2021 at $11 million ($250K buyout), respectively.

Yankees and Diamondbacks Trade Talk
The Arizona Diamondbacks and Yankees have engaged in trade talks recently and one of the names that has been discussed is center fielder Jacoby Elsbury according to NJ.com.
Elsbury has a full no-trade clause, is due $63 million over the last three years of his contract and has a $5 million buyout for the 2021 season. With such a huge hit to the salary, it wouldn't make sense for the Yankees to keep Elsbury since Brett Gardner is expected to start in left with Aaron Hicks in center field. Giancarlo Stanton and Aaron Judge will split time in right field and designated hitter, leaving no room in the outfield for Elsbury.
Diamondbacks General Manager Mike Hazen and manager Tony Luvollo were with Elsbury in Boston before he went to the Yankees in 2013.
Pirates Want Gleyber Torres
The Pittsburgh Pirates have shown interest in Gleyber Torres in a Gerrit Cole deal according to John Heyman.
Pirates have wanted Gleyber Torres in a Gerrit Cole deal. Can’t see yanks giving GT up. Frazier a more likely centerpiece, but would need to be more than 1 for 1. Perhaps andujar or Adams could be 2nd piece. Still negotiating.

Entering 2017, MLB Pipeline had Torres ranked as the number three overall prospect in baseball. The only prospects ahead of Torres were Andrew Benintendi and Yoan Moncada. Torres started the year for the Yankees’ Double-A team, batting .273/.367/.496 in 32 games.
