The New York Yankees are always looking to upgrade in order to get back on top of the MLB. Since the Yankees missed out on Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole, New York has turned it's attention to free agent pitcher Yu Darvish. But what's the market looking like for Darvish, and can they even land him? Here are all the latest Yankees news and rumors you need to know.

Yankees On Yu Darvish's List
Jeff Wilson of the Star-Telegram writes, Chicago Cubs, Los Angeles Dodgers, Minnesota Twins, Yankees, and Texas Rangers are all on Darvish's wishlist.
According to the report, "Darvish isn't sweating the lengthy free-agent process, meaning he’s not at a point where he’s starting to consider taking less money."
Darvish isn't going to sign a one-year deal but may settle for a three-year option. Yesterday, John Harper of the New York Daily News reported that general manager Brian Cashman's interest in Darvish "is very real," and the Yankees think they could sign Darvish to a five-year deal worth between $80 and $90 million.
Darvish went 10-12 with a 3.86 ERA in 31 starts with the Rangers and Dodgers last season.
Yankees Payroll Flexibility
Harper writes that if the Yankees have the hope of trading outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury to make room for Darvish, this will likely mean also trading one of their young players - most likely Clint Frazier.
There aren't many teams who are going to want to acquire Ellsbury considering he is owed $68 million for the next three years, but adding a young player into the mix would make it more enticing. The Yankees don't want to give away a young player like Frazier but have a plethora of talent in the outfield.
Cashman said last week on WFAN he wanted to remain under the $197 million luxury tax and this may be the only way possible in order to land Darvish.
Aaron Hicks Is Jacked
It appears Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks did nothing this offseason besides eat, sleep, and workout. Hicks posted a picture on Instagram and he is jacked.
He slashed .266/.372/.475 with 15 home runs in 88 games last season, and his playing time might decrease with the additions the Yankees made this offseason, but he looks to be in the best shape of his life. If he struggles to hit this season he may consider auditioning for the next Hulk movie.
