Winter Meetings are thing of the past in the MLB, but there are still plenty of rumors floating around the New York Yankees. We're here to detail the newest and most intriguing with our Yankees Rumors Roundup For Dec. 20th:
Papelbon Changes Mind On Yankees
Last season, Jonathan Papelbon's no-trade clause included the New York Yankees. However, Papelbon has changed his mind and is okay with a deal to the Yankees. Of course, Papelbon hasn't always rubbed Yankees fans the right away. Before he 2008 All-Star game, Papelbon said he should close the game instead of Mariano Rivera. Papelbon was on the Red Sox at the time.
It's also unclear if the Yankees would have any interest in adding Papelbon, who the Nationals are trying to move. He saved 24 games last season, but got himself in trouble with his actions towards teammates. He's also due $11 million next season before he becomes a free agent.
