Yankees Still Pursuing Bryce Harper?
If you thought the 2018 offseason was exciting for the Yankees with them acquiring Giancarlo Stanton, just wait until next year when star outfielder Bryce Harper becomes available.
According to Jon Heyman of FanRag Sports, it's still possible the Harper ends up with the Yankees in 2019. Heyman listed his seven favorites for Harper when the Washington Nationals star hits free agency next winter.
"The Yankees seem illogical for Harper," writes Heyman "But who thought they'd land Giancarlo Stanton. They love the player, and his family were Yankees fans. Though, the reality is, the Yanks seem set on Manny Machado for next year."
The 25-year-old superstar batted .319/.413/.595 with 29 home runs and 87 RBI in 111 games in 2017. He is expected to get a contract in the 10-year, $400 million range. It has even been rumored for him to be the first player to hit $500 million.
Tim Lincecum's Tryout Results
The two-time Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum is hoping to return to the MLB in 2018. Lincecum held his throwing session for 25-30 scouts Thursday, and sources told Heyman that he was throwing 90-93 mph.
Heyman also reported earlier this week that the Yankees would be one of the teams at Lincecum's tryout.
He would be an interesting project for the Yankees since he didn't pitch in 2017 and held a 9.16 ERA in 2016 with the Los Angeles Angels. It appears general manager Brian Cashman is leaving no stone unturned in his search for more pitching. If the Yankees were to sign Lincecum, he would more than likely be only for insurance in case one of the starters for the Yankees were to get injured.

Jaime Garcia To Toronto
According to Chris Cotillo of SB Nation, the Toronto Blue Jays signed pitcher Jaime Garcia to 1-year, $8M deal with an option for 2019.
This is a solid deal for Garcia who has struggled recently with the Yankees. This move for the Blue Jays likely means pitcher Joe Biagini will be back in Toronto's bullpen, barring an injury to another starting pitcher this spring.
Last season with the Yankees, Garcia started 27 games, had a 5-10 record, throwing 157 innings, with 129 Ks, 64 BBs, and a 4.41 ERA. Garcia wasn't expected to be a starter for the Yankees this season anyway, but New York has been active all offseason in hopes of adding more arms which means they may target another pitcher.
