After a trading for Giancarlo Stanton, the New York Yankees continue to look for ways to strengthen their roster. They have been heavily linked to Baltimore Orioles star Manny Machado, but any potential deal between the two sides may be in jeopardy now. Here are all the latest Yankees news & rumors you need to know:
Orioles want to prevent Manny Machado from ending up with Yankees
The Yankees have been one of three teams that have been heavily pursuing a trade for Machado, along with the Chicago White Sox and St. Louis Cardinals. However, if the White Sox acquired Machado, they were willing to trade him again at the deadline if he did not agree to sign long-term with the franchise (Machado is set to be a free agent after the 2018 season) - with New York being the most logical suitor at that time.
However, the Orioles are so determined not to have Machado end up on the Yankees that they will only deal him to a team that will not later flip him to New York, according to Dan Clark of The Big Leagues Daily.
LATEST: The #Orioles want to trade Manny Machado and will only not occur if Peter Angelos vetoes it. They won't trade directly with the Yankees and want confidence he doesn't end up on-traded there. Risky, and potentially messy. O's fans understandably nervous.

Machado batted .259 with 33 homers and 95 RBIs in 156 games this past season.
Latest on potential trade for Gerrit Cole
New York has shown interest in Pittsburgh Pirates pitcher Gerrit Cole going back to the trade deadline, and the two sides are reportedly discussing a deal that would send Cole to the Bronx for a package centered around Clint Frazier, according to George King of the New York Post.
According to a person with knowledge of the situation, the Yankees and Pirates are discussing a deal that would bring right-hander Gerrit Cole from Pittsburgh and possibly would include outfielder Clint Frazier leaving The Bronx.
The Pirates are expected to deal outfielder Andrew McCutchen, so they are looking for an outfielder who has power. While Frazier may not qualify as a legitimate power threat, hitting gurus believe his bat speed -- which Cashman labeled "legendary'' when acquiring the 23-year-old from the Indians in 2016 -- will lead to more homers with regular playing time.
Cole went 12-12 with a 4.26 ERA and 196 strikeouts in 33 starts last season. Frazier hit .231 with four home runs and 17 RBIs in 39 games for the Yankees.

Yankees talking with Diamondbacks about two players
The Yankees are also talking with the Arizona Diamondbacks about acquiring either Patrick Corbin or Brandon Drury - or both - according to Joel Sherman of the New York Post.
The Yankees have spoken to the Diamondbacks about Patrick Corbin. But not just Patrick Corbin.
They also have had talks involving Brandon Drury, who could help fill what are now vacancies at second and third after the trades of Starlin Castro and Chase Headley, The Post has learned.
Corbin was 14-13 with a 4.03 ERA and 178 strikeouts in 32 starts last season, while Drury hit .267 with 13 home runs and 63 RBIs in 135 games.
