Danny Salazar Headed To New York?
More Yankees pitching rumors, this seems like a revolving door all Yankees fans have been going through all offseason. A new name has surfaced, however, Cleveland Indians starting pitcher Danny Salazar. According to Joel Sherman of the New York Post, the Yankees tried to land the 28-year-old from Cleveland.
The Yankees looked into other starters in trades and free agency, including, The Post has learned, the Indians' injury-prone, erratic, but talented Danny Salazar.
Salazar has nasty stuff striking out 145 batters in 103 innings last year. He is often injured, as he has never topped 200 innings in a single season. With Salazar to begin the 2018 season on the disabled list, once he becomes healthy we may see the Yankees target him again.
Manny Machado Comments On Aaron Judge's Tampering
The Yankees and Orioles are facing off in Spring Training and Aaron Judge addressed the media today and referred to a conversation he had with Machado.
“I told him, ‘You’d look pretty good in pinstripes, too," said Judge. The comment didn't sit well with the MLB. MLB came out and stated that Judge’s “off-the-cuff comments were not appropriate and not authorized by the club.”
Machado then commented on what he thought of the entire situation.
“I’ve told a lot of people they’d look good in black and orange as well, trying to get guys over here," Machado said. "It’s just part of the game. You want to put the best team out there on your field, and if I’m a part of this team, I want to bring the best guys over here as much as I can. I want to get a ring as well.”
The MLB's outrage in regards to Judge's "tampering" is ridiculous, why is it surprising that professional athletes want to make their teams as talented as possible?

Tyler Wade Makes The Roster
The Yankees signed infielder second baseman Neil Walker, so the future of Wade making the roster have been in question. Wade has had an impressive spring batting .316.
On Tuesday, Wade went 2-3 with a triple and after the game manager, Aaron Boone talked about the future of Wade.
"Wade's going to be on the team," said Boone.
Walker is a veteran and despite him being signed this offseason, Boone was hesitant to name a starter.
"I wouldn't necessarily anoint either one of them," Boone said.
Wade is 23 years old and is having a great spring, but he'll go into the season having played just 30 major league games, as he debuted in 2017 hitting .155 in 58 at-bats.
