The New York Yankees already landed the biggest prize of the offseason on Saturday in Giancarlo Stanton, who they acquired in a trade with the Miami Marlins. But that's far from the only move the Yankees will make this offseason, and New York made another trade today by shipping Chase Headley to the San Diego Padres. With winter meetings here, more moves will be on the way. Here are all the latest Yankees news & rumors you need to know:
Yankees to re-sign Todd Frazier?
New York made the Headley trade (San Diego will absorb all of the $13 million on Headley's contract) in order to clear more room under the luxury tax threshold ($197 million), giving them a better opportunity to pursue a top-end starting pitcher or third baseman on the open market.
Dumping Headley's salary increases the chances that New York will bring back Todd Frazier. The Yankees acquired him in a midseason trade and he liked playing for the team and was a great presence in the clubhouse.
Frazier hit .222 with 11 home runs and 32 RBIs in 66 games with the Yankees this season.
New York could sign two starting pitchers
Of course, their quest for a top-end starting pitcher may actually be forming into them looking to sign two pitchers for more rotation depth, according to Brendan Kuty of NJ.com.
The Yankees could look to add two starting pitchers at the 2017 MLB Winter Meetings at the Walt Disney Swan & Dolphin Resort, a source with knowledge of the team's personnel decisions told NJ Advance Media. The source requested anonymity in order to speak freely.
It's "not crazy" to envision the team nabbing a second starting pitcher, likely via trade, before the club tries to complete a deal with Sabathia, to ensure rotation depth, the source said.
New York had been planning to bring back CC Sabathia, but this indicates they may not do that due to concerns over his right knee issues. The Yankees are known to be targeting Alex Cobb and Jake Arrieta in free agency.

Yankees interested in trade for Michael Fulmer
Another pitcher New York has interest in is Michael Fulmer of the Detroit Tigers and the Yankees may pursue a trade for him, according to Mark Feinsand of MLB.com.
Source: Yankees have RHP Michael Fullmer of the Tigers as a potential trade target. Fullmer still has five years of club control; would bring back nice haul for Detroit. @BNightengale first to mention Yankees/Fullmer connection.

Fulmer went 10-12 with a 3.83 ERA, 114 strikeouts, and 1.15 WHIP last season.
