The New York Yankees will take on the Houston Astros in Game 7 of the ALCS tonight with a trip to the World Series on the line, and with CC Sabathia taking the mound, the Yanks are confident about their chances.
"He's the guy we want out there," David Robertson said.
"That's our guy," rookie Aaron Judge echoed. "Anytime we need someone in a big situation, CC's been our guy."
Sabathia has been New York's stopper in these situations throughout his career. He beat the Orioles in Game 5 of the NLDS, beat Cleveland in Game 5 of the ALDS this year, and was on the mound when the Yankees won the World Series in 2009. On top of that, he is 10-0 with a 1.69 ERA after losses this year.
"I've said before there's nobody we would rather have on the mound in a big game but him," Brett Gardner said. "He pitches well for us after we lose. We lost tonight, we're playing tomorrow and he's pitching."

Sabathia is just as confident in the players around him, crediting them for their ability to quickly move on following a loss.
"Just the way we can turn the page, it's something that these guys have a gift to do," Sabathia said. "It's hard to do, especially for a young team. And they seem to do that every day.
"It's been a tough road, not being in the playoffs for a long time and going through my personal things. It will feel good to get out there and have an opportunity to try and pitch this team to the World Series."
Sabathia went 14-5 with a 3.69 ERA and 120 strikeouts in 27 starts this season. Those numbers improve to 1-0 with a 2.30 ERA and 19 strikeouts in three starts.
