The excitement around the New York Yankees has been incredible, especially around outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. The hype around newly acquired Stanton's impact in the Bronx continues to grow. Last year the Yankees led the MLB in home runs with 142, so adding the 2017 NL MVP who hit 59 home runs should only help that number rise. According to Elias Sports Bureau, Stanton is the first player in Yankees history to strike out eight times in any 2-game span.
On Tuesday Stanton appeared in his first home game with the Yankees and it didn't go to plan. He went 0-5 with five strikeouts against the Tampa Bay Rays and the Yankees fans let him hear it with boos, plenty of boos. On Wednesday, Stanton had a better game blasting a three-run home run, however, he struck out three more times.
In six games this season Stanton is batting .217 with three home runs, six RBIs, and 12 Ks.
