The New York Yankees have been looking for a new manager since they mutually agreed to part ways with Joe Girardi following their exit in the ALCS, and the rumor mill has been churning ever since. Here are all the latest you need to know:
Yankees interview Eric Wedge
New York announced that they have interviewed former Indians and Mariners manager Eric Wedge, making him the second candidate they have interviewed, following bench coach Rob Thomson.
Wedge has been serving as an advisor for the Blue Jays and hasn't been a manager since the 2013 season, but has been looking to get back into it.
"It's something that I knew I wanted to do again at some point in time," Wedge said. "I just wasn't sure when that opportunity might show itself. I'm the field coordinator right now for the Toronto Blue Jays, and I get a lot of enjoyment out of that job and the responsibility that goes along with that. [Managing is] something that I definitely wanted to do at some point down the road."
Wedge complied a 774-846 record during his 10-year managerial career.
Aaron Boone emerges as new candidate for job
A number of candidates emerged as serious contenders to replace Girardi, and according to ESPN's Buster Olney, current ESPN analyst Aaron Boone is being considered for the job.
Aaron Boone, who hit one of the most famous homers in New York Yankees history and has served as an analyst on ESPN's Sunday Night Baseball the past two years, is among the candidates to be the Yankees' next manager, according to sources. An interview has not yet been scheduled.
Boone played 54 games for the Yankees in the 2003 season, who acquired him from the Cincinnati Reds prior to the trade deadline, and helped them make the World Series.
In total, Boone played 12 seasons in the majors and retired in 2009. He joined ESPN in 2010.

Jerry Hairston Jr. talks his candidacy for Yankees manager
Hairston has also emerged as a serious candidate to be New York's next manager last week despite not having any managerial or coaching experience in his past. However, he indirectly confirmed speculation linking him to the position, according to WFAN's Sweeny Murti.
Hairston hinted at his candidacy without actually confirming it to me, saying “I might be making some trips back east now that the World Series is over.” But I came away thinking that in today’s game he is certainly what many teams are now looking for in a manager — a strong communicator with a strong base in analytics.
Hairston also addressed concerns about his lack of experience.
“I was a coach when I was a player,” Hairston said of his 16-year career. “I was thinking along with my manager and the other manager every day."
