TAMPA -- Yankees starting pitcher Masahiro Tanaka will carry a grotesque 11.25 ERA into his final spring training start sometime this week.
That day, however, he'll look like a much different pitcher -- and someone with a much different mindset, pitching coach Larry Rothschild said.
Rothschild said he expects Tanaka to start looking like the regular-season version of himself, and to be getting regular-season type results.
The pitching coach was asked if he agreed with Tanaka, who said after getting shelled for four runs in 2 2/3 innings and two homers in Saturday's 9-3 loss to the Tigers that he shouldn't be so worried about the numbers.
