The Yankees placed pitcher Bryan Mitchell on the 7-day concussion disabled list, the team announced on Tuesday afternoon.
The rookie was hit in the head by Eduardo Nuñez's line drive on Monday night. He was led from the field with a bloody towel pressed against his face. The 24-year-old righthander was evaluated and released from New York-Presbyterian Hospital on Monday night. He suffered a "small nasal fracture."
Veteran lefthander Chris Capuano and righthander were called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre. Righthander Caleb Cotham was optioned to Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
