Yanks finally call up sizzling, prized prospect Refsnyder

BOSTON — The Rob Refsnyder era is slated to begin Saturday night at Fenway Park.

With the Yankees scheduled to face two lefty starters against the Red Sox before the All-Star break and Jose Pirela having just been sent down to Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Refsnyder is set to make his major league debut, according to YES Network’s Jack Curry. Refsnyder could get his first chance in the majors at second base if Chase Headley is still plagued by a sore calf and the struggling Stephen Drew moves to third.

The 24-year-old Refsnyder had been inconsistent at times at the plate this season for Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, but the major concern has been his glove.
