Yanks bring back Jones after last week's DFA

After being designated for assignment by the Yankees last week, Garrett Jones has re-signed with New York, according to the YES Network's Jack Curry.

The Yankees have not confirmed the deal.

Jones, 34, was designated on Friday and elected free agency. According to Curry's report, he will be active for Wednesday night's game against the Red Sox.

Jones has appeared in 57 games with the Yankees this season, batting .215 with five home runs and 17 RBIs. He has played both outfield and first base.
