James Paxton will start Game 1 of the American League Division Series against the Twins on Friday at Yankee Stadium.
New York announced its starting rotation for the first three games of the ALDS on Thursday. Masahiro Tanaka will follow Paxton in Game 2 on Saturday, also at Yankee Stadium, and Luis Severino will start Game 3 when the series moves to Minnesota on Monday.
The Yankees also made two other big announcements on Thursday: CC Sabathia will not be on the ALDS roster, but Edwin Encarnacion is expected to be on it.
I have to admit I am surprised Sabathia did not make the roster.
