Yankees pitcher Domingo Germán will sit out the first 63 games of the 2020 season for violating Major League Baseball’s Joint Domestic Violence, Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Policy. He had already served 18 games on the restricted list to end the 2019 season—nine in the regular season, and nine in the postseason—meaning his suspension is a total of 81 games. Germán was originally placed on administrative leave on Sept. 19, 2019.
Germán will not appeal the suspension, according to the release.
