ARLINGTON, Texas -- If you grow up in Alvin, Texas, your life is surrounded by Nolan Ryan. The way the Yankees' Nathan Eovaldi likes to tell it, there is Ryan memorabilia everywhere you look.
From signed jerseys to baseballs, the images of Ryan's legend surrounds any Little Leaguer. Even the Expressway is named after the Hall of Famer.
A substantial part of Ryan's legacy are his seven no-hitters. So here was Alvin's own, Eovaldi, pitching four hours from his hometown on Monday night and throwing daggers by the Texas Rangers.
For six innings, Eovaldi -- with his parents in attendance -- held the Rangers hitless.
