Yankees win in Stanton’s return to Miami

MIAMI — In one of the weirdest games of this season so far, the Yankees were able to pull one out in extra innings against Miami, 2-1, at Marlins Park.

Pitching dominated in this one, with both teams limiting the other in terms of offense.

Masahiro Tanaka started for New York and went six innings and gave up just a run on four hits. The lone run was an Austin Dean solo shot in the fifth inning that tied the game at one.

The Bombers had initially taken the lead in the fourth, when Neil Walker drove in Miguel Andujar with a single off of Pablo Lopez.
