ARLINGTON, Texas — The Yankees have to hope Luis Severino’s first ALDS appearance is a lot better than his third and final outing of the regular season.
“It is another important step for him,’’ manager Aaron Boone said before Severino the Rangers on Saturday night at Globe Life Park. “Obviously he is throwing the ball really well and we think he is in a good spot.’’
Saturday night Severino’s spot wasn’t so good since he walked four in three innings on the way to a 9-4 Rangers victory that was witnessed by 42,870.
Severino required 72 pitches to get through three innings in which he gave up two runs, a hit, four walks and struck out four.
