The Yankees were a middle-of-the-pack defensive club in 2018, as they finished ninth in the American League and 17th in the majors with a .984 fielding percentage.
They did have a few elite defenders that were recognized Thursday when the National League and American Gold Glove finalists were announced.
Three Yankees were represented: Left fielder Brett Gardner, right fielder Aaron Judge and pitcher Masahiro Tanaka.
The Yankees were one of nine teams with at least three finalists.
Gardner won in 2016 and also was a finalist last year, while Judge was a finalist in 2017.
